Alacati day two
In the morning the wind was a bit light, but already by 11 o’clock it got pretty steady so we could start on time. After finishing the race two that we have started yesterday, we went straight for race three. I was in the heat eight and like all the time so far I had a bad start. With the good speed I managed to come to the first mark with the group and after a good first jibe I had to pass only two more guys. On the second mark I knew they will fight and I could take my chance on the inside. Exactly that happened, but while jibing tight over their chop on the inside I somehow went down. Untill the end I managed to pass two more guys to finish in fifth. Again I missed to advance to the next round.
In the race four after the lunch I decided to start different, from the boat this time. It worked a bit better and in the first two marks we were few guys fighting for the 4th, but I managed to pass them on the straight and come to mark 3 in third. On the last jibe I shook a bit, but I made it in third to qualify for the first time!
In the quarterfinal I got covered from a guy on the start and went over the line like last. I was trying to catch back but unfortunately I passed only one guy. At the end of the day I must be happy with my small improvement.
After the race I went to practice the starts with Kurush (D – 13) and after many attempts they got finally better, after that I tried the 7.7 sail and now I think I am ready for the next days. Hopefully my results will improve untill the end of the week, but I am positive about it!
