Fuertaventura day 1
From now on my bolg will be in English, so more people can read and understand.
So we started the event in Fuertaventura. The organization is really professional here, the tent for the gear is huge and for the competitors everything is really well organized. I arrived to the island one day before the event and tried my big sails as the forecast was for light wind on the first day.
I was in the first heat with 13 guys in it and 6 would qualify. The wind was gusty and I was on my biggest registered sail 7.8 Naish Stealth, F2 Team Edition 68 and 38cm fin. I started not the best, but I still managed to get to the first mark with the group. After jibing there was a big wind hole, a lot of guys thought they will cancel the heat, but I pumped like crazy and got out of the hole in the 6 position that I holed till the end and for the first time I qualified for the semi final. I had a bad start there and went to the losers final. We had two general recalls and one cancelation due to light wind. I started well and came to the first mark in 5, but after the jibe I felt in to a wind hole and went down where all the guys passed me. Through the course I was fighting with Pressler, but on the last mark Aeberli took the chance and pass me on the inside. I finished on the 21st place the first elimination and I am happy about it!
