Fuerteventura day 1
Fuertaventura has started. In the morning of the first day we had 11-23 knots with the gusts of 27knots. My first start was not a very good one, but I caught the group on the first mark, than Pritchard and Swift “squeezed” me so I fell and finished my first heat without advancing.
In the second heat I went good with the rest of the group, the wind was somewhere between 16-25 knots over the course. But unfortunately a French sailor next to me fell and hit me with his mast and I lost my chance for qualifying further – but only for 1 position, because I still finished 5th.
In the third heat the wind was blowing between 30 and 40 knots, most of the sailors were on their smallest boards and sails. I took my 5.7 and I felt perfect. About when I came to the start line the wind fully eased and despite my fight I could not gain enough speed and again finished 5th when crossing the finish line. I felt like the nature is playing with me, because by the time I came to the beach, the wind picked up again.
Nevertheless, I still feel fully motivated for the upcoming races!
