Fuerteventura day 3
Today was a long and hard day. We started in the morning with two normal slalom eliminations. The wind was all day long up and down, so it was very hard to choose the right equipment. Most of the guys had all 4 sails ready on the beach. In the first two rounds the wind was lighter so we used sails like 7.0 or 7.8. I had two bad starts and I also got down in the first mark. Somehow it was just not my day, I finished two times 10 in my heat. After the lunch the jury decided to go for a full fleet rabbit start with 6 jibes downwind rush. I started well the first one and got to the first mark in about 20 place when I got pushed down. There quite some guys passed me, after I crashed again and the good start was wasted. I crossed the finish line in 31th.
The second I also started quite well, but on a half way to the first mark I fell in to a wind hole, but somehow I passed it although some people passed me. On the first mark I went to a jibe and almost got T-boned, so I had to bear off to not fall. I was pushed quite downwind and than got cowered by the rest of the fleet. I was struggling to get upwind to the second mark and got passed by quite some guys. I tried to jibe as tight as possible and got hit by a sailor, but I managed to stay on the board and I got some guys behind. I was jibing very good till the finish and made quite some places back to cross in 30th place.
The day was not the best, but I finished it with a good jibing so that keeps me positive!!!
