Fuerteventura day 3
After two amazing days of racing the day three was quite average. In the race seven I was in the first heat and had a good start came out of the first jibe in six and held my place till the finish line. In the semi I had a very bad start and I was training to get beck to the six all the way to the finish line, but unfortunately I did not make it. I was happy anyway to qualify again and went full for the loser final. Unfortunately Diaz right away on the start covered me so I came to the first mark in last and before the jibe I even slipped from the board. I tried to catch back but was to far. 24th place was added to my result account.
Race eight was a bit unlucky for me, as the wind got really gusty; it was from 15 till 40 knots. I had a good start and good speed so I came out of the first jibe in 5th, but after the second mark the wind dropped and I was with my 5.4 when the rest used 6.0. I risked it and was unlucky. Two guys passed me on the last straight and right after the finish the wind kicked back in. I was 7th in that heat and did not qualify for the first time.
In the last race of the day, race number nine the wind picked up a lot and it was full power for the smallest gear. We were flying to the first mark and I had a good first jibe came out in 5th but just before mark two F – 14 came fully down on me and crashed me right before the mark. I had to get up and jibe out of the straps, but he also fell down so we had a massive fight till the finish line. I overtook him on the jibe number 3, but slipped on the jibe number 4 and he passed me for few meters. I finished 9th in this heat and that will be so for sure the first discard of this event.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better again.
