Fuerteventura day 3
In the morning the wind was a little bit gusty on the inside, 9-20 knots at the start line.
In my first heat of the day I missed qualifying through to the next round due to 5th position, just after Dagan. I was a bit to carefull on the start as I had an over early the day before.
In the afternoon the course has been re-set, there were some strong gusts over the course area. I was in the heat 7 and had a good start flowed by very good speed to the first mark, I was leading in front of Diethelm, Ellis and Quentel around the first mark … I held the position until the finish line! I qualified as first to go in the quarterfinal. It was my first heat win ever in PWA! That gave me confidence and for the first time I understood how easy it is when you are first to the first mark!
After I was very motivated but on the start Josh Angulo pushed me down so I almost crashed, despite that I managed to check up with very good speed again and I came to the first mark in 4th (as you can see on the picture), but I had to tide the jibe because of F - 91 and I got covered by Patric (ITA -120) and came out of the jibe in last. Till the end I was fighting with the group, but we crossed the finish line 4 guys in 50 m and I was last.
I am happy for the win and still confident for the future!
