Good bye Erbi! R.I.P.
It is with tires in my eyes and indescribable pain in my hard that I write this post! My windsurf brother Andrew Erban "Erbi" (CZ-0) is no longer with us.
Now I will write a secret that was not meant to be written, but in the circumstances I decided to open in up.
Back in 2003 three guys from east Europe Erbi, Laslie and me made a bet only between us three that we would try everything to become the first east European pro windsurfers. So we were training together motivating each other although we had much less than our other friends. As the story went on in 2005 Laslie passed away in a tragic car accident shortly after he returned from Cape Town. With Erbi we made a video (http://vimeo.com/7127249) for him and our friendship got even closer as we were left alone. Many times when I was down and no one would be able to help me I called Erbi and he knew the right way, as we were from very similar routes and always had the same dreams. He would always tell me to go on and would motivate me to train harder. He was like my brother just from another mother. And this morning I receive a phone call that he passed away! I did not believed it as I was in shock, so I called him and the phone was ringing but of course no answer. I reached some friends and they told me that the avalanche in Slovakia was fatal for him. I can still not believe it! He was supposed to come visit me next weekend, but he will never come!
At this point I would just like to say thank you my big windsurfing brother, thank you for everything you learned me, for all the motivation you gave me, for all the good times we spent together and specially thank you to teach me how to follow my dreams!!!!
R.I.P. Brother you will always be with me!!!
