I started Fuerteventura brilliantly

I had a very bad sleep, but I was trying to motivate myself for the first race. The day before the race I felt pretty good so I was optimistic. In the first race looked like the sailors were nervous, as they were pushing the start and I almost went with them, but I stayed calm and benefit of five overearlis. I qualified for the semifinal, but did not make it to the final. In the loser final I had a good start and sailed consistent all the way to the finish line that I crossed as 7th that meant 19th place. I knew that the second race will not be so easy and I also had not a very good start, but I attached on all the marks and manage to pass the sixth guy on the last mark to qualify to the semifinal again. The semi did not go very well again, but I decided to concentrate for the loser final. I had a good start and a good first jibe of which I came out in 4th place, but unfortunately on the next mark Rosati fell right in front of me and I had no other chance than going down. Till the finish I manage to pass him but the rest was just to far. So a 23rd place in the second race. After a lunch brake I felt quite tired already, but manage to clear my mind and qualify again for the semi. Last year on the whole event I manage to pass only one heat so I was happy about my performance, but I wanted more. We had 3 overearlis in our semifinal and that could be my chance. I started good and came out of the first jibe in 3rd. I was fighting with good speed all the way to the 5 jibe, where at the end of the jibe a swell pushed me down and two guys came on the inside. I still manage to get up in 6th but Ross was just behind me. It was all down to the last jibe, where I had to go a bit wide because the two guys in front were fighting and experienced Ross took the chance and closed the jibe. We were flying down the last reach, but he was upwind so he managed to push me downwind. I missed the final for a meter. In the last loser final of the day I was already very tired, but the start was good and the racing too. I only did a mistake on the last jibe where two guys snaked inside. I finished the third race on the 22nd place.
Nevertheless of two small mistakes I sailed very good the first three races if you consider it is only my second slalom season. PWA named me as Sailor of the day for my good performance and wrote in the press relies:
The award for Sailor of the Day falls to Tine Slabe (RRD), who sailed brilliantly through the early rounds. In his best performance so far, the charming Slabe has laid the foundations for his best World Tour result to date.
