IFCA World slalom championship - Texel
The Texel IFCA World slalom championship
is over. It was week full of very hard conditions and a lot of racing. I have
started it with a disaster day and when the wind got a bit stronger I showed
that I know how to sail with wining the losers final, but in the key moments I
did to many mistakes on the starting line and never managed to show what I am
really capable of. At the last day only two heats were sailed in a so-called
“medal” race. It was a race of top 10 and of the guys from places 11 to 20 whit
double points to count and a rabbit start from the beach. In my opinion
although it might look good for the spectators it is quite and unfair race when
you think we were racing for the world champion title. Nevertheless I finished
the competition on the 17th place.Bernd Flessner took the title in front of Kasper Larsen and Damien Le
Guen. Congratulation to three of them!
