Piranja
The fourth edition of the Piranja all you can ride windsurf race in Piranwas held last Saturday. The event with a cool concept that starts on exact day on exact hour no matter the conditions managed this year to unite more than 60 windsurfers with all kinds and ages of windsurf equipment. The really good organized event also saw the first SUP long distance race in Slovenia with 30 competitors.
Due to very light wind the "old school" equipment was in great favor. I only had the formula equipment, but did not manage to plain so after half of the race I abandoned it. In the SUP race I started easy but after half of the race I saw many guys were getting tired so I stood up the tempo and mange to overtake many guys to finish in 3rd! I was happy with my result!
I believe this is a good concept to bring some more people that used to windsurf on the old school boards back to the sport.
