Shimuni extreme speed one hour slalom 2009
Last weekend I spent some good time with Tom Malina and other friends in Croatia on the island of Pag, where the second edition of a very well organized regatta was held. More than hundred competitors inscribed. The wind forecast was good, it was calling for Bora, so the organizers did not start the race on Firday and that was quite a mistake, as the forecast was wrong and on Saturday the wind died and we were only able to do a fun race where most of the competitors were planning only half of the one hour. Unfortunately we could not get regular results, but the party in the evening was grate and for the second time in a role I was Mister of Shimuni!
Although the forecast was giving zero wind for Sunday, that was also the reason the organization left no option to start the competition on the last day, in the morning Bora was blowing perfectly and I had a really nice two hours session on very flat water. Hopefully next year the wind will be more on our side, that so many competitors will start again and the organization will be as good as the last two events.
