Switch to summer!
The past weekend Recharge.si and
Windsurfpoint.si opened the summer season in my homespot Žusterna with an event
called »Switch to Summer«. Over the weekend competitions were held in various
disciplines and Recharge.si online shop presentation new windsurf equipment and
the windsurfing school presented the new program. On Saturday the relatively strong
Mistral wind was blowing. We run competitions of Match Race (where the
contestants competed in pairs with identical equipment), in the afternoon it was time for Course Race – (where
buoys were in parallel position to the wind) - most of the competitors used
formula equipment. Later on, when wind eased a little, we had a fun freestyle
race, which was for the viewers probably the most amusing contest. The task for competitors was to show various
entertaining tricks (in no wind condition), such as the special costumes,
dancing on the board, etc. in 2 minutes show Jaka Mankoc convinced the jury and
won the supersession.
The event was very successful as we
manage to bring to spectators a very good show despite the wind conditions. We
decided that the event will become traditional so we will open every summer
with it in next years.
