Sylt first race
Today we finished the first race of the 2010 Sylt Slalom. The wind was very gusty side offshore from the right. I was in heat 6 that was relatively easy, but as soon we started in the wind dropped almost to zero, we restarted it and the wind dropped again this time so much that I decided to head to the beach and change the board to the big one. When I went back on the water there was already red flag up for my heat. I managed to get to the start just in time so I had quite a bad start. After the first mark where I made an inside jibe there came the stupid mistake when I wanted to put my back foot in to the foot-strap a chop hit my heal and I missed it. For a moment I went down, but that was enough to not catch the 4th guy in this light gusty winds.
I was vary angry on me for another mistake in this season for almost the whole day, but this is sport and life is to short to be sad I told myself, so I went in the evening for a SUP session with Kauli Seadi that relaxed me for the next racese that are coming till the end of the event,
