Turkey is over!
A long week of competition with 11 races is finished. The last two days we did 3 races is still the same conditions, gusty 15 -22 knots wind. Most of them I was using my Naish Stealth 7.8 and the F2 SX L with a 42 cm Choco fin.
Yesterday it was not a really lucky day. I got to the second round in both races, but did not finish well. In the first I was blocked by Dan Ellis right on the start, so I was trying to catch up and manage to pass only one guy. Before the last day I dropped 2 places, so I was wishing that we do one more race on the last day that I could get back. Today we started in really light wind. I had to take my bigger sail 8.8 to pass the first round. I saw which place my opponent finished so I made a quick calculation and knew before the start that I have to finish at least 7th in my heat to pass him. I started quite good and after the first jibe I was in 7th, but on the second reach one guy overtook me. On the last mark I attacked FRA 99 and he did a small mistake, we started to pump together and I manage to get planning just before him. We were pushing the last reach and I crossed the finish line in 7th.
I re-passed the 2 guys and finish the event on the 32nd place. I did not qualify for the semifinal but I happy anyway. I learned a lot this week and I passed all first heats so I definitely improved since Costa Brava, what was my first aim this year. My friend Ales Zaklej survived his first PWA event finishing on the 52nd place.
